Sometimes life throws you a curveball. The situation can be very trying but it can also offer more than you ever expected, Abundantly More.
My son, Zachary seemed healthy and perfect the day he was born, but six days later doctors at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago discovered he had multiple heart defects. He was immediately admitted to the ICU and underwent his first heart surgery at 11 days old. The procedure was successful, but Zachary became worse. The next eight weeks were spent in the ICU going through trial after trial including MRSA, weight loss, pulmonary hypertension and congestive heart failure just to mention a few. Doctors went on to perform two more open heart surgeries.
Throughout this ordeal, I found my own broken heart in need of emotional and spiritual repair. I refused to give up control and struggled against the surrender that would bring peace in the midst of the storm.Abundantly More shares my journey of hope and healing, and it also offers practical knowledge on how to navigate life in a pediatric ICU.
Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us. - Ephesians 3:20
